Das Institute for Law and Finance der Goethe-Universität bietet in Zusammenarbeit mit neun führenden Anwaltssozietäten zum sechsten Mal den Sommerlehrgang „Bank- und Kapitalmarktrecht“ in Frankfurt a. M. vom 30. August bis zum 10. September 2010 an. Der Lehrgang vermittelt einen umfassenden Einblick in die Praxis des Bank- und Kapitalmarktrechts sowie der Unternehmensfinanzierung.
On 1 July 2010, the ILF will be relaunching its website with a new look and feel. The design and structure of the new website will provide easier access to information and make it even more user-friendly for our users. Do take a look here on 1 July!!
The ILF held its 2nd Career Day on 11 June 2010. The morning session comprised an information session by the ILF and presentations of various law firms, companies, public entities as well as a recruitment and personnel consultancy. After the lunch break, ILF students and alumni had the opportunity to take part in one on one talks with representative of ILF sponsors.

On 22 to 23 April 2010, the European Financial Law Network (EFLN) held its annual Ph.D. conference in Frankfurt. Organized by Prof. Dr. Dres. h.c. Theodor Baums, Director of the ILF and Prof. Dr. Brigitte Haar, the ILF had the great pleasure to welcome scholars and Ph.D. students from Luxembourg, Genoa, Gent, Strasbourg and Geneva in Frankfurt.
Numerous young academics gave presentations on their research work in the area of banking and financial law which led to fruitful discussions on important issues.

On 5 May 2010, the eve of the Corporate Finance Summit 2010 jointly hosted by Commerzbank AG and the ILF, Dr. Dieter Wedel held a lecture at a reception held for guests from the financial sector, industries, law firms and academia. The successful German director and screenwriter returned to his birthplace Frankfurt and spoke about his personal experiences and insights on business ethics.

About 200 executives from the financial industry, including corporate finance and management consultants, investment and portfolio managers, as well as other guests from other industries met on 6 May 2010 on Campus Westend at this conference with distinguished speakers. This conference is being held for the second time by the ILF.
Prof. Dr. Andreas Cahn, Executive Director of the ILF, said: "We must analytically learn from the causes and effects of the economic and financial crisis and consistently work on regulatory mechanisms and behaviors in places where it is deemed necessary. The expert conference organized by Commerzbank and the ILF provides an appropriate forum for the exchange of knowledge and practice."
